Best of the weekend

Doing: Sleeping in late, heading into Old Town for lunch, enjoying some delicious Indian street food, driving over to Bristol, mooching around Cabot Circus, exploring Snuffs Mill, heading home for dinner and Saturday night TV. Then getting up and making brunch, wrapping gifts, snacking on strawberry shortcakes, having a lovely browse around Homesense, getting new inspiration for our living room, checking out the vintage festival at the Designer Outlet, stopping for some seriously good milkshakes at Ed’s Easy Diner, cooking pasta and watching House of Cards. Waking up and realising it was a bank holiday, dozing happily, pottering and doing jobs, preparing a recipe post for later this week, shopping and prepping dinner for friends coming tonight, feeling amazingly relaxed…

Eating: Masala chicken and chickpea wraps, salmon lattice with vegetables, sweet potato and bacon hash with a fried egg, chocolate and oreo milkshakes with more sweet potato [oops] fries, hot buttery white toast, beef arrabiata with salad.

Feeling: Relieved to have three days off instead of two!

Listening to: Beautiful Things, Gungor

Discovering: The beautiful wares of Oliver Bonas in Bristol. This brand is so up my street, I can’t believe I’ve never heard of it before. Their store in Cabot Circus was packed full of quirky and colourful homeware, stunning metallic accessories and unusual furniture. I could have bought all of it! Plus they have a gorgeous range of women’s clothing, with some beautiful dresses that may well be just what I’m after for weddings this summer. Now just to choose…

How have you spent your bank holiday break?
