Doing: Having a relaxed Saturday; pottering around Swindon Old Town, snacking on Indian street food, browsing a beautiful furniture store, checking out an art exhibition, devouring too many helpings of dinner in front of Netflix. Then an adventure-packed Sunday; exploring the caves at Wookey Hole, playing old-fashioned Victorian arcade games, giggling at the separate ladies and gents coin slots in the love and kiss-o-meters, feeling utterly confused in the hall of mirrors, larking around in the Dinosaur valley, driving home via Costa for a cheeky hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows. Just because we could.
Eating: Cherry and sultana scones, garam masala chicken and chickpea wraps, spinach and pancetta pasta.
Feeling: Far too excited as I hung my washing out on the line for the first time this year.
Listening to: From Here to Now to You, Jack Johnson.
Discovering: Some of the gorgeous scenery and tiny villages in rural Somerset, as we drove through to Wookey Hole. We stopped in Wells for some lunch on the way, and I was loving all the beautiful stone terraces , colourful cottages and independent shops and cafes lining the streets. I’ve never been in that area before, and look forward to returning soon to do some more exploring.
