Doing: Spending a relaxed Saturday in Chippenham; enjoying a long and lazy lunch, wandering along the canal, mooching around the shops, watching too much Netflix and almost forgetting to eat dinner. Then an adventure-filled Sunday in Bristol; feeling cultured in M Shed and Arnolfini, enjoying the wind in my hair and sun on my face as we walked along the harbourside, browsing the market, exploring tiny side streets and happily getting lost, discovering some seriously beautiful architecture, finding new reads in Waterstones, enjoying a delicious hot chocolate with cream in The Crazy Fox, wishing I could buy all of the gorgeous flowers in The Flowerman, laughing too much as we ran back to the car in the pouring rain with only one umbrella.
Eating: Sweet potato and basil falafel sandwich with skin-on fries, tapas and ciabatta, homemade pulled pork burgers and salad.
Feeling: Relieved that Spring is finally coming and happy to be spending a weekend with the Mr!
Watching: House of Cards, Season 1 – late to the party, I know, but seriously I never realised it was going to be this good.
Discovering: An amazing retro eatery called Rivo Lounge. Beautifully styled, Rivo mixes colour and print with art-deco detailing and eclectic artwork on the papered walls. It has a vast menu, including some creative drinks offerings [check out my cooler lemonade below] and is in a great spot, just off the bridge, perfect for people-watching. The service was a little slow, but the food was well worth the wait. We enjoyed a gourmet sandwich and some tapas, and I have my eye on the brunch choices already for next time!
